Heather Akins received her undergraduate degree from Texas
A&M University and her Master in Biology from Texas
State University in San Marcos, Texas. She obtained a
doctorate of osteopathic medicine from The University of
North Texas Health Science Center of Osteopathic Medicine
in Ft. Worth, Texas. Dr. Akins completed her residency in
family practice at Baylor Family Practice Residency in
Garland. She is board certified by the American Board of
Family Physicians and is a member of the Texas Medical
Association and the Collin County Medical Society. While
practicing quality medicine for both children and adults,
she maintains a special interest in women's
Adam J. Kaplan, M.D.
Adam Kaplan received his undergraduate degree from
Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. and his M.D. from
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After
completing his residency in family practice at the Baylor
Family Practice Residency in Garland, he was board
certified by the American Board of Family Physicians. Dr.
Kaplan provides primary care to both children and adults.
He has special interests in preventative medicine, as well
as new technology in the healthcare industry. Dr. Kaplan is
a member of the American Medical Association, The
American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Medical
Association, and the Collin County Medical Society.
